The WG972 is the entry point in Kubota's WG Series spark ignited engine lineup, designed after Kubota's Super Mini Series diesel engines and built for compact industrial applications where gasoline, LPG, or natural gas fuel delivery is required instead of diesel. The G suffix indicates gasoline only, the L suffix indicates LPG only, the GL suffix indicates dual fuel gasoline and LPG, and the N suffix indicates natural gas. Direct port injection allows precise fuel delivery and consistent performance across the fuel options. The WG972 produces maximum gasoline torque of 66.9 Nm (49.3 lb-ft) at 2000 rpm, with maximum LPG torque of 70.4 Nm (51.9 lb-ft) at 1800 rpm reflecting the different combustion characteristics of LPG fuel.
Common applications for the WG972 are dominated by the material handling, aerial lift, and turf equipment markets where gasoline or LPG fuel is preferred over diesel for indoor operation, low emission zones, or fuel logistics convenience. The WG972 is widely used in JLG and Genie scissor lifts where LPG indoor operation is mandated, in propane forklifts across distribution and warehouse applications, in golf course turf equipment, in aerial work platforms, in light tower and small generator packages, and in compact industrial sweepers. Engine Oil Filter 1C02032433 covers the spin on lube filter for the WG972, with the alternate Engine Oil Filter HH150-32430 fitting select OEM application housings. Fuel system service uses In Line Fuel Filter 1258143011 (and the 12581-43012 alternate revision) for the gasoline supply line, with separate LPG vapor lock and regulator components for the LPG configurations sourced through your equipment OEM rather than directly through the engine parts catalog.
Engine internal hardware is the second core service category on the WG972 because the small displacement engine sees high RPM operation in lifts and turf equipment that drives top end wear faster than the larger diesel counterparts.
