Bushing Fitment and Compatibility

Bushings are matched by inside diameter, outside diameter, length, and installation method, and the OEM number is what encodes them. Common replacements include the press fit bushings replacing OEM 6805453 and 6665701, the wear bushing replacing OEM 6730997, the weld-on bushing replacing OEM 6702958, and the wear ring replacing OEM 6662306.

Installation type is the detail that decides the job. A press fit bushing drives into a machined bore and needs the right tooling to seat square. A weld-on bushing is welded into the structure and is what you need when the original bore has worn oversize past the point a standard bushing will hold. Ordering a press fit part for a bore that has already elongated is the most common wasted purchase in this category.

Types of Replacement Bushings

Press fit bushings are the standard renewal for a pivot whose bore is still true. Weld-on bushings restore joints where the bore itself is gone, effectively rebuilding the mounting point. Wear bushings and wear rings sit at high-contact surfaces and are designed to be sacrificial, protecting the expensive structure behind them. Flanged variants locate axially as well as radially.

Loose attachments, clunking on direction changes, and visible ovaling at a pin bore are the field signs. Bushings and pins wear as a pair, so replacing one without the other returns the joint to loose within a fraction of the expected life.
