The L4060 is the second smallest of the six model Grand L60 Series lineup, sitting above the L3560 (37 horsepower entry) and below the L4760 (49 horsepower) in the L60 Series. The Grand L60 Series transmission options are unique in the compact tractor category: HST Plus hydrostatic, GST Glide Shift Transmission with 12 forward / 8 reverse speeds, or FST Fully Synchronized Main and Shuffle with 8 forward / 8 reverse speeds. The L4060HSTC cab variant is the most popular configuration in the L4060 lineup and features fully enclosed cab with HVAC. The Grand L60 Series was introduced in 2013 with all new styling, refreshed cab options, and the V2403-CR-E4 common rail engine that distinguishes the L60 Series from the previous Grand L40 generation.
The L4060 shares its chassis with the L3560 (entry), L4760 (next size up), L5060, L5460, and L6060 (flagship) Grand L60 siblings. Engine displacement and rated horsepower are the primary scale variables across the six model lineup. The V2403-CR-E4-GL2 engine specifically is shared with the L4060 and the rest of the L60 Series, plus the L4701 in the Standard L Series and several MX Series and M Series tractors.
Cab service is one of the most-ordered L4060 replacement categories, particularly for the HSTC cab variant which is the most common L4060 build. Engine internal hardware is the second category. Gasket 1G911-14523 covers engine sealing service. Muffler Gasket T0070-16420 covers exhaust system service. Engine seal service uses Seal 19202-04460, the engine seal shared across the L Series, MX Series, and M Series tractors that all use V2403 engine family. Fuel system service uses Fuel Filter 15831-43380 for the Tier 4 final primary fuel filter on the L4060. Smaller assembly hardware (O-Ring 04817-50300, Washer 04512-50080, Washer 04512-50120) covers routine top end work alongside larger components.
