Kubota's compact tractor lineup spans four families that increase in frame size and engine displacement. The BX Series sub compact tractors run 16 to 25 horsepower three cylinder diesels and are positioned for lawn, light landscaping, and small property maintenance. The B Series compact tractors run 21 to 33 horsepower with three or four cylinder diesels and step up to a heavier loader and three point hitch capacity. The L Series is split into the Standard L (L2501, L3301, L3901 share one chassis at 23 to 39 horsepower; L4701 is on a heavier chassis at 47 horsepower) and the L60 Mid Frame (L3560, L4060, L4760, L5060, L6060) at 35 to 62 horsepower. The MX Series at 49 to 63 horsepower bridges into utility tractor territory and shares many service parts with the M60 utility tractors.
Many service parts cross between these families because Kubota uses the same engine across multiple chassis. The L2501 runs the D1503 engine, which is the same base engine used in some MX, F, and B Series models. That means the engine oil filter, fuel filter cartridge, and primary air filter for an L2501 are also valid replacements for several other Kubota tractors that share the D1503 powerplant. Hydraulic and transmission filters are the most chassis specific category. The Standard L Series uses one set of hydraulic filters, the L60 Series uses a different set, and the BX uses a different smaller set again. Always verify the part by your tractor's serial number, especially on long production models like B3350 (2013 onward) where mid run revisions changed filter housings.

Hydraulic filtration is the second core category. Spin on hydraulic filter 6813162132 is a high cross fitment part used across multiple Kubota chassis (B Series, MX Series, KX excavators, SVL track loaders). Fuel system parts like the fuel filter cartridge RB101-51281 and the in line fuel filter 12581-43011 cover the common rail Tier 4 conversion era and earlier mechanical injection era respectively. The B3350 uses a 33 horsepower 1.5 liter four cylinder diesel and shares many filter cross references with the L3301 / L3901 because of common engine displacement, while the L2501 is intentionally specified just below the 26 horsepower Tier 4 threshold to avoid the diesel particulate filter required on higher horsepower engines.
