The L4701 is the largest entry in Kubota's Standard L Series compact tractor lineup, and the only Standard L machine that does not share its chassis with the L2501 / L3301 / L3901 trio. Where those three smaller Standard L machines all sit on a common chassis with engine displacement and rated power as the primary scale variables, the L4701 is on a heavier larger chassis specifically engineered to support the 47 horsepower V2403 family engine and the higher hydraulic capacity needed for the larger front loader package. The DT designation indicates 4WD gear drive, F is the front loader configuration, H and HST are the hydrostatic transmission options. The L4701 sits below the Grand L60 Series (L3560 / L4060 / L4760 / L5060 / L5460 / L6060) in cab quality and transmission options but above the smaller Standard L siblings in raw frame size and lift capacity.
The L4701 engine and many service parts cross to the larger MX Series compact tractors and the M5140 utility tractor because all of those machines run engines from the V2403 family. The L4701 cab and chassis service parts are L4701 specific because the larger Standard L frame is unique to this model.
Engine internal hardware is the leading service category on the L4701, particularly cylinder head and valve service as the original L4701 production units approach the end of their first major service cycle. Cylinder Head Gasket 1G790-03630 covers the V2403 family head gasket service, the same head gasket that fits the larger MX5400 in the same engine family. Gasket 1G911-14523 and Gasket 16221-73270 cover additional engine sealing service on the L4701.
Engine seal service uses Seal 19202-04460, the engine seal shared across the L Series and other Kubota engines in the same V2003 / V2203 / V2403 family. Smaller assembly hardware (Guide Oil Gauge 17456-36420, O-Ring 04817-50300, Washer 04512-50080, Washer 04512-50120) is typically batched into a service order alongside head and valve cover work. The L4701 Tier 4 fuel system parts are the same family used on the L3901 sibling, with the larger displacement engine simply consuming more fuel per hour rather than using different fuel system components.
