The V1505 is the 4 cylinder counterpart to the 3 cylinder D1105 in Kubota's 05 Series lineup, sharing the same 78 by 78.4 mm bore and stroke with one additional cylinder for higher power output. The naturally aspirated V1505-E3B uses indirect injection with an in line pump and Kubota's improved E-TVCS combustion technology to reduce particulate matter and noise while preserving the simple mechanical service architecture. The dry weight of 110 kg keeps it light enough for compact equipment installations. The current common rail V1505-CR-TE5 is the most modern variant, with electronically controlled fuel injection and Tier 4 Final / EU Stage V aftertreatment for the regulated industrial market.
In the Kubota equipment lineup, the V1505 powers the U35 minimum tail swing mini excavator, the smaller M Series utility tractors, and several MX Series compact tractors at the lower end of the MX horsepower range. Outside Kubota, the V1505 is one of the most widely OEM specified compact 4 cylinder diesels in the world, found in JLG aerial work platforms, Skyjack scissor lifts, Toro turf equipment, Multiquip diesel generators, and dozens of light construction and material handling machines. The cross OEM presence is one of the largest of any single Kubota engine, which means a single V1505 oil filter or air canister can fit a long tail of end equipment models from many manufacturers.
Engine Oil Filter W21ESO1600, the alternate revision W21ES01600, and 1627132090 cover the V1505 spin on lube filter cross references (the same filters that fit the smaller D1105 because the engine families share the same filter housing). Air filtration uses a wider canister than the D1105 because the V1505 has higher airflow demand. Outer Air Filter 81528711081, 7000011081 (older revision), and 4025156400 (alternate sizing) cover the most common V1505 air canister installations. Outer Air Filter 1552111081 and 15401-11080 cover OEM applications with smaller canister housings.
Fuel system service is shared with other 05 Series engines through the In Line Fuel Filter 1258143011 family. The V1505-CR-TE5 common rail variant uses a different fuel injection system than the older mechanically injected V1505-E3B / V1505-T-E3B variants, so verify your engine model designation against the part listing before ordering high pressure fuel system components. Cooling, electrical, and engine internal hardware (head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, water pumps, glow plugs) covers top end work as the older V1505 production units in compact tractor and excavator applications approach the end of their first major service cycle.
