Parts Compatibility for Kubota ZD Diesel Zero Turn Mowers

The Kubota ZD Series is the company's commercial diesel zero turn mower line, built in the United States and positioned against the gasoline zero turn competition with diesel torque, longer engine life, and the lower fuel cost per acre that comes with diesel. Kubota has been building the ZD platform for roughly 15 years across three major generation revisions. The current generation includes the ZD1011 at 19.3 horsepower with a two range HST transmission, the ZD1021 at 21.6 horsepower with a 60 inch three blade deck, the ZD1211 at 23.3 horsepower paired with Kubota's two range HST, and the ZD1511 at 31 horsepower, the most powerful zero turn Kubota has ever produced. The legacy ZD18, ZD21, ZD28, and ZD326 generations remain in heavy use across municipal mowing fleets, golf course maintenance crews, and landscape contractor operations.

Because every ZD machine uses a Kubota three cylinder diesel from the same engine family used in the F Series front mowers and several BX Series sub compact tractors, engine service parts (oil filter, in line fuel filter, primary air filter) cross between many ZD generations and into the F and BX product lines. Hydraulic, transmission, and deck components are model specific. The ZD11 family (ZD1011 / ZD1021 / ZD1211 / ZD1511) shares one chassis platform with engine displacement as the primary variant, so chassis parts cross within that family. The earlier ZD18 / ZD21 / ZD28 generation used a different chassis and a different deck mounting system, so deck and frame parts are not interchangeable between the legacy and current generations.
