Parts Compatible with the Kubota KX018-4 Mini Excavator

The KX018-4 is the smallest conventional tail swing entry in Kubota's current 4 Series mini excavator lineup, replacing the legacy KX018 / KX008 sub 2 ton machines. The 4 Series introduced Tier 4 emissions compliance and refreshed cab and operator station design. The platform was eventually replaced by the current KX018-5 in this size class, with the KX030-4 (24.7 horsepower, under 7,000 lb operating weight, released January 2023) bridging into the next size class above. The 16.1 horsepower three cylinder Kubota diesel in the KX018-4 is intentionally sized below the 19 kilowatt Tier 4 diesel particulate filter threshold, which means simpler emissions hardware, less downstream maintenance overhead, and lower service cost over the machine's life.

Many KX018-4 service parts cross to the KX030-4 in the same generation because both machines share engine displacement family, cab structure, and the bulk of the hydraulic components. Engine oil filter, fuel filter cartridge, primary fuel filter, and air filter are largely common between KX018-4 and KX030-4, which simplifies stocking for contractors who run both machines. Valve cover and engine internal hardware are also largely shared, which matters as the older KX018-4 production units approach 4,000 to 6,000 hours and start needing top end service.

Fuel system service is one of the most-ordered KX018-4 replacement categories because the small frame machine sees high duty cycles in tight access work that drives more frequent fuel filter changes than larger excavators. Fuel Filter Cartridge RB10151281 is the primary, with RB101-51282 and RD819-51280 covering alternate revisions used in different production batches. The Tier 4 secondary fuel filter is RG136-6219-0, with RG518-51130 covering an alternate fitment used on certain KX018-4 production units. Engine Oil Filter HH150-32430 (and the HH1J0-32430 variant) is the oil service filter, shared with the BX sub compact tractors and the smaller ZD zero turn mowers because the engine displacement family is common.

Cold weather service is a meaningful order category in northern markets. Glow Plug 16851-65510 (with the 1G679-65512 alternative covering later production) covers the engine glow plug bank. Engine internal service uses Valve Cover Gasket 1G962-14520 for top end work, Gear Ring 16871-63820 for starter ring service, and Oil Switch 15531-39010 for the lubrication pressure circuit. Thermostat 15321-73010 covers cooling system service. Fuel Cap R5611-51120 is a recurring service item, particularly the lockable variant for theft prevention on jobsites.
