Most parts on this page are pre-formed metal or moulded lines bent to follow one specific route through one specific machine, which means they cannot be matched by length and diameter alone. The fuel clunk is worth naming, because most people describe it rather than search for it. It is the weighted pickup on the end of the suction line inside the tank, and it moves with the fuel as the machine works on a slope. When one hardens, cracks, or hangs up, the machine runs fine on a full tank and starves below a quarter, which reads like a failing pump.
Injection pipes carry fuel at very high pressure and seal at each end through a formed flare. They are bent to a fixed shape for a reason, and a pipe that has been straightened, rebent, or reused after being disturbed rarely seals again. Order these by number and fit them as supplied.
Low pressure lines and connectors run from the tank to the lift pump and filter. Age hardens the quick connectors and the flexible sections, and this is where the hardest fuel faults come from: everything upstream of the pump is under suction, so a joint that leaks there draws air in rather than dripping fuel out. There is nothing to see on the ground, and the machine simply loses power, surges, or stalls.
Filler necks, inlets, and tank hardware keep water and dirt out at the top of the system. Cold start components cover glow plugs. On a diesel that starts, runs, and then dies, look for air on the suction side before condemning the pump.
