Fluid and Fuel Caps

Fuel and Fluid Cap Fitment

Caps look interchangeable and are not, since thread pattern, sealing style, and venting differ by tank. Common caps fit Bobcat machines, including the diesel fuel cap that replaces OEM 7113340 and the protective adapter cover that replaces OEM 6660644, alongside John Deere threaded fuel caps like the replacement for OEM AT156445. The OEM number stamped on your old cap or listed in your parts diagram is the reliable match.

Venting is the detail that matters most. A vented cap on a tank designed for sealed operation, or the reverse, causes fuel starvation, tank panting, or weeping around the filler. Product pages state venting so you can match what the tank expects.

Types of Replacement Caps

Diesel fuel caps top the replacement list for a simple reason: they live on top of the machine and disappear at fuel stops. Hydraulic reservoir caps often integrate a breather or dipstick. Radiator and coolant caps hold system pressure and are rated in PSI, so the rating on the old cap must match. Locking fuel caps deter jobsite fuel theft and are a common upgrade on machines stored outdoors.

A missing cap is an open invitation for water and grit to enter the tank, so replacing one quickly is cheap protection for the fuel system downstream.
