Gasket Fitment and Compatibility

A gasket seals two flat faces bolted together, which is a different sealing problem from an O-ring sitting in a machined groove, and it is why the two are not alternatives for each other. Because most gaskets here are engine gaskets, they match to the engine rather than to the machine. Common replacements include the valve cover gaskets replacing Kubota 1G962-14522 and OEM 7000673, the thermostat gasket replacing OEM 6684863, the swivel gasket replacing OEM 6677839, the delivery valve gasket replacing OEM 3974368, the hydraulic oil cap gasket replacing OEM 6700631, and the gaskets replacing Kubota 1G911-14520 and 1A021-73270.

Work from the engine data plate for anything sealing an engine joint. One machine model can carry more than one engine across its production run, and valve cover and thermostat gaskets follow the engine.

Types of Replacement Gaskets

Engine gaskets cover valve covers, thermostat housings, and injection components. These joints are opened for routine service, which is what puts them on a parts list far more often than a failure would.

Hydraulic and system gaskets cover swivel joints, covers, and cap gaskets, where a flat face has to seal against fluid without a groove to hold an O-ring.

Two rules apply across all of them. Do not reuse a gasket. It took a set under clamp load the first time, and it will not take that set again in the same shape. And do not add sealant to a gasket that was designed to seal dry. Many are coated or composite and rely on a specific crush at a specific torque; an added bead changes that thickness and can produce the leak it was meant to prevent. Clean both faces fully and check the sealing surface for gouges before assembly.
