Wiper Arm Fitment and Compatibility

Wiper arms are series-specific rather than model-specific, and the fitting where the arm meets the motor spindle is what decides compatibility. Manufacturers list arms against machine series for exactly this reason. Common replacements include the window wiper arms replacing OEM 7188371, 7251263, 7008936, 7277284, and 7259306, the wiper arm for skid steer loaders replacing OEM 7204778, the wiper arm plate gasket replacing OEM 7251265, the C and D Series arm replacing Case 87319294, the dual wiper arm replacing Case 47778552, the D and G Series arm replacing John Deere 4650571, and the wiper arms replacing Kawasaki 30035-60030 and 30035-60060.

The wiper arm plate gasket is worth more attention than a small rubber part usually gets. It seals the point where the wiper spindle passes through the cab skin, and once it perishes, water runs down the spindle and into the cab. That leak appears low and inboard, so it gets blamed on a door seal or a floor drain, and replacing either one will not stop it. If a cab is wet with no obvious entry point, check the wiper spindle.

Types of Replacement Wiper Arms

Standard arms carry a single blade and are pinned or nutted to a splined spindle. Dual arms drive two blades from one spindle on machines with wide or split glass, and they are not interchangeable with a single arm even where the spindle matches.

Arm plate gaskets and spindle hardware seal and locate the arm where it enters the cab. These are inexpensive and are worth replacing whenever an arm comes off, since the arm has to be removed to fit one anyway.

An arm loses spring tension over time, and that matters as much as blade condition. An arm that no longer presses the blade firmly onto curved glass leaves streaks and missed areas that a new blade will not fix, which is why a fresh blade that still smears usually means the arm is finished.
