Browse aftermarket breathers for skid steer loaders, compact track loaders, and excavators, including hydraulic tank breather caps, breather vents, breather filter elements, and crankcase ventilation filters.
Match your breather by OEM part number and the reservoir it serves. Details are listed on each product page.
A breather lets a sealed reservoir or case exchange air as fluid level and temperature change. Common replacements include the hydraulic breather cap replacing OEM 6674690, the hydraulic cap replacing OEM 6727475, the breather caps replacing OEM 6577785, the breather vents replacing OEM 7340277 and 7025626, the breathers replacing OEM 3974926, 6666749, and 6917778, the air breather connector replacing OEM 7030317, the crankcase ventilation filter replacing OEM 7024701, the breather filter element replacing Volvo 14500233, and the element kit replacing CAT ME302763.
The hydraulic tank breather is the part most worth understanding here, because it is also the tank's air filter. Every time the cylinders extend and the oil level in the tank drops, the tank draws outside air in through that breather. On a machine working in dust, that is a direct route into the hydraulic system, and a breather left in place for years is quietly feeding the system the contamination that every filter downstream then has to catch.
Hydraulic tank breathers and caps combine a filler cap with a filtered vent, and they are service items on the same basis as a filter rather than parts you fit once.
Case and housing breather vents equalise pressure on gearboxes, chaincases, and final drives. A blocked one lets pressure build as the case heats, and that pressure pushes oil out past the seals, which is why an assembly that keeps losing oil after new seals points back at its breather.
Crankcase ventilation filters handle engine blow-by gases. A restricted one raises crankcase pressure and can push oil past seals in the same way.
Every failure on this page looks like a leak somewhere else, which is what makes breathers worth checking early. They are among the cheapest parts on the machine and among the easiest to forget entirely.
