The wedge is what actually holds the attachment on. It drops through the mounting frame into a slot in the attachment plate and locks it against the coupler. Everything else on the system positions and drives that wedge, which is why a worn wedge or a worn pivot is not a minor issue: an attachment that rocks or rattles on the mount has movement where there should be none, and that movement wears the coupler and the attachment plate together while it does it.

Types of Replacement Bob-Tach Parts

Pivots and coupler pivots carry the moving parts of the mounting system and take load every time an attachment is picked up. They are series-specific, and generations of the mounting system are not interchangeable even where the shape is close.

Wedge blocks and mounting kits are the locking hardware, and upper kits bundle the components for one side so a rebuild is done as a set rather than one worn piece at a time.

Power Bob-Tach components serve machines where the wedges are driven hydraulically from the cab rather than by hand levers. These have their own switch and control hardware, so confirm whether your machine is manual or powered before ordering, since the two systems share very little.

Check the mount whenever an attachment is off the machine. Wedge and pivot wear is easy to see when nothing is hanging on the coupler and effectively invisible when something is.
