Bobcat Air Filter Fitment & Compatibility

Bobcat air filters are not universal across the lineup — different engine platforms and cab configurations require different filter elements. Current M-series and R-series skid steers and compact track loaders use radial seal style air filters, while many legacy models in the 700 and 800 series use a panel or round filter design. The outer air filter (primary element) is the most frequently replaced, with common OEM part numbers including 6666375, 6698057, 6687262, and 6681474 depending on the model and engine.

Every Bobcat air filter system uses a two-stage setup: an outer primary filter that captures the bulk of particulate, and an inner safety filter that protects the engine if the outer element fails or is removed during service. Both should be inspected regularly, but the inner filter is replaced less frequently — typically every other outer filter change or when visibly contaminated. Always confirm your OEM part number before ordering, as filter dimensions and seal profiles vary even between models that share the same engine. Types of Replacement Air Filters for Bobcat Equipment

Bobcat equipment uses several types of air filtration elements depending on the application. The outer air filter (also called the primary element) is the main intake filter that prevents dust, dirt, and debris from entering the engine. These are the highest-volume replacement filters and should be checked every 250 hours or more frequently in dusty conditions.

The inner air filter (also called the safety element) sits behind the outer filter as a secondary barrier. Radial seal safety filters (replacing OEM 7020361 and similar) are designed for the newer canister-style air cleaner housings. Recirculation filters (replacing OEM 7010332) are cab air filters that clean the air inside the operator compartment — separate from the engine intake system. These are especially important for enclosed cabs operating in dusty environments.
