Yanmar Engine Fitment and Compatibility

Yanmar's small diesels sit inside a wide range of compact machines, including John Deere, Hitachi, Takeuchi, Komatsu, Kobelco and New Holland excavators and loaders as well as Yanmar's own equipment. The engine families covered here include the current TNV series (3TNV70, 3TNV82A, 3TNV88, 4TNV88), the earlier TNE series (2TNE68, 3TNE84, 4TNE84) and the TN and TNA engines such as the 4TN82L, 4TN84L, 3TNA84L, 4TNA78T and 4TN100.

The engine model is stamped on the plate on the rocker cover, and the suffix after the base model identifies the build. Two machines from different manufacturers that share a Yanmar engine often share the same air and fuel filters, so the engine model is usually the fastest way to confirm a part. Types of Replacement Filters for Yanmar Engines

Air filters make up most of this range. Compact excavators and loaders run in heavy dust, and most Yanmar applications use a primary element that is cleaned or replaced on a regular schedule, with an inner safety element on many machines. Common replacements include the primary air filters that replace John Deere M131802 and Komatsu 848000018.

Fuel filters and engine oil filters complete the service set. Yanmar fuel systems are sensitive to water and dirt in the fuel, so the fuel filter and any water separator should be replaced on schedule rather than left until the engine loses power. The fuel filter cartridge that replaces John Deere AT13387 and the fuel filter that replaces Yanmar 129C0055800 are common replacements.
