Deutz Engine Fitment and Compatibility

Deutz air and oil cooled diesels are fitted to equipment from many manufacturers, including New Holland and Bobcat skid steers and loaders, Vermeer machines, Gehl equipment, and compressors and compaction equipment from Ingersoll Rand, Atlas Copco and Dynapac. The engine families covered here include the 912 series (F3L912, F4L912, F5L912, F6L912), the 913 series (BF6L913), the 1011 and 2011 series (F3L1011, F4L1011, F3M1011F, F3M2011), the 1013 series and the older 511 and 413 engines.

In a Deutz engine model the letters and numbers describe the engine: F3L912 is a three cylinder, air-cooled 912 series engine, and a B prefix marks a turbocharged version. The full model and serial number are on the plate on the engine block. Check them against the engines listed on each product page, or contact our team with your engine details.

Types of Replacement Filters for Deutz Engines

Fuel filters make up most of this range. Deutz engines use spin-on fuel filters, often with a separate water separator or pre-filter, and dirty fuel is a leading cause of injection pump and injector trouble. Common replacements include the fuel filters with water separator that replace Bobcat 6667352 and Bobcat 5557352.

Air filters complete the set. Air-cooled Deutz engines pull cooling air across the cylinders as well as combustion air through the filter, so a blocked air filter or dirty cooling fins quickly lead to overheating. The outer air filter that replaces Bobcat 6598492 and the inner air filter that replaces Bobcat 6598362 are common replacements.
